Kit Harrington moves from the fictional realms of Game Of Thrones to a real life historic event that involves an eruption of the most famous volcano in the world, Mt. Vesuvius and destroying the most beautiful city from the Roman era, Pompeii.
It also involves him showing off his nicely sculpted body for which he underwent a serious training regime to be more gladiator-like for the role of an enslaved gladiator who fights to death in the Pompeii arena. Emily Browning plays his (forbidden) love interest, so he must save himself and her from a city that is about to be buried in ashes and lava.
Pompeii is the first major movie for Kit Harington where he plays an enslaved gladiator who falls in love with a woman (Emily Browning) who is about to be married to a Roman senator. Of course she loves him back, and there’s also mount Vesuvius which is about to erupt and destroy the city, so things are about to become seriously hot, lava hot.
Pompeii is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil). Premiers on 21 February in 3D cinemas. Also starring Carrie-Anne Moss, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Kiefer Sutherland.
