Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is an upcoming sci-fi movie directed by Luc Besson, based on a French graphic novel from the ’60s.
Watching the trailer you might think that this is some sort of copy of the Fifth Element, or Star Wars even with all the space creatures and space ships, however I remind you once more that it’s based on the graphic novels that were first published in 1967, some ten years before Star Wars. Some even suggests that Star Wars is based on the adventures of Valerian and his love interest the beautiful Laureline.
Dane DeHaan is starring as the title character Valerian, while Cara Delevingne is his spatio-temporal agent partner, and he flirts with her constantly.
Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets premieres on 21 July 2017.
Approaching the Unknown is an upcoming science fiction drama about the first man that will set foot on Mars.
Watching the trailer you will notive influences from several movies. You get the drama elements and indie style from Moon, but also from last year’s Martian where astronauts’ solitude is explored as well. It also feels like a low budget Interstellar.
Anyhow, it looks really promising and maybe a hidden gem for 2016 among the more obvious anticipated blockbuster. It won’t make a lot of money, but it will win over the hearts of critics and audiences.
Mark Strong as Captain William D. Stanaforth, Sanaa Lathan as Captain Emily Maddox, Charles Baker as Captain Frank Worsely, Anders Danielsen Lie as Greenstreet and Bettina Skye as Nasa Technician.
Captain William Stanaforth is on a one-way solo mission to take the first steps in colonizing Mars. Like all pioneers throughout history, Stanaforth will face insurmountable odds and life and death decisions as he rockets bravely through space.
Approaching the unknown is directed and written by Mark Elijah Rosenberg. Premieres on 3 June 2016.
Today Disney released the first teaser trailer for this year’s Star Wars movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Even though a bit longer than the usual teasers, the trailer isn’t showing much more of the plot line than we already know. Instead we get introduced to the character Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones. After watching the trailer you will get an instant Han Solo vibe of of the character, being a young criminal and all.
To be honest the trailer is much more exciting than the trailers for Episode VII. For those of you who don’t know the story, the film takes place between Revenge of the Sith and New Hope, dealing with stealing the plans for building the first Death Star which was destroyed in New Hope. Jyn Erso as an experienced thief and criminal (also rebel) will be in charge of this task.
Diego Luna and Forest Whitaker have a prominent part in the teaser, but their characters are unknown at this point.
There are at least two bad guys in the teaser and two or three characters for which is not quite clear which side they serve.

20th Century Fox released what’s probably THE trailer for this spring in the cinemas. The second trailer for X-Men: Apocalyspe! See the human side of the X-Men in the epic two and a half minutes!
Starting of with the origin story of En Sabah Nur or Apocalypse is he’d likes to be called, the trailer transitions into the personal life of out favorite X-Men, or the good guys in this X-Men movie. We see Quicksilver, Mystique, Beast, Jean Grey and Cyclops as they prepare for what it so be the war of the century.
While on the other side we have, practically a God with his “Four Horsemen.” We’re used to Magneto being the bad guy, but seeing Storm as a villain is a bit difficult, even if she is under Apocalypse’s influence.
Doesn’t ever wake you up in the middle of the night? A feeling that someday they’ll come for you and your children? -Magneto
You are all my children, and you’re lost because you follow blind leaders. No more false gods, I’m here now! – Apocalypse
After getting to know the characters up close, the trailer explodes into fight scenes, destruction and mayhem, as the mutants are trying to save humanity of the first and the most powerful mutant that ever existed. AWESOME!
