Starz’s Outlander Wallpapers

Outlander - The Druid Dance wallpaper

Outlander - The Druid Dance wallpaperOutlander is the latest series that left quite the impression on me. The Starz’s tv show is based on the Outlander novel series by Diana Gabaldon. Currently the show has only eight aired episodes and eight remain to be aired starting from April the 4th which would conclude the first season and the first book. The episodes running time is 55min. to an hour.

A second season has been announced also consisting of 16 episodes based on the second book “Dragonfly in Amber” (we had a glimpse of such object in the first half season).

You can search for a short summary on Wikipedia or IMDB.

The show stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan as the main protagonists, Claire Beauchamp Randall as the “Sassenach” time traveler and Jamie Fraser, a young Scot with a price on his head.

While the story is interesting with fiction, fantasy and history intertwined, the thing that you will be taken aback is the Scottish backdrop, with gorgeous landscapes and beautiful music composed by Bear McCreary.

You can download the wallpapers below, many of them are form the pivotal moment in the pilot, the druid dance, the scene will leave you breathless.

One thing you will notice through out the show is that the show makers use a more dull, non colorful backdrop for the “present”, which is actually 1945 right after the end of WWII, while the scenes in the past, in 1743 are way more saturated, greener etc.
